Michael A. Gerla leads the charge for new business and sales in the New York City office as the President/Partner for The Atlantic Group. He understands the power of a functional work environment that reflects a client’s brand, and he sees the positive impact this has on their business.
Leveraging his deep knowledge of the industry and connections, he ensures The Atlantic Group’s clients get the best solution at the best possible price. “Many firms are just in it for the one project and then are gone. We’re all about building relationships,” says Michael.
He believes that what sets The Atlantic Group apart is their sense of comrade, energy and team spirit as they help clients transform empty spaces into lively work environments. He is known for keeping projects moving on schedule and staying within the client’s budget.
“What makes The Atlantic Group special is its young and vibrant culture that makes coming to work fun,” says Michael.
Before joining The Atlantic Group as a partner in 2005, he was a commercial real estate broker in NYC for 15 years. The Atlantic Group was his client, and he worked closely with them.
Personal ties also led Michael to the company. Roger Abramson, the founder of The Atlantic Group, is a longtime friend. Roger and Michael were both brokers in 1992 and became friends, and when Roger went into the furniture business, Michael became his client.
Michael is a graduate of the Eller School of Business at the University of Arizona with a double major in Real Estate and Finance. He also played baseball and lacrosse at the University of Arizona.
Michael lives in Scarsdale, NY, with his wife and two daughters. He plays numerous sports including, baseball, basketball, golf and tennis. In his free time, he helps out with cooking at a nonprofit organization for a homeless shelter.
